Our mother stopped breathing a couple blocks away from the hospital. They were able to get her back and they put her on a ventilator and sent her to Madison. After testing was done and they asked us kids to come in. We met with her lung Dr and he told us that mom needed a double lung transplant and she had no signs of life. So we decided to take her off the ventilator because we were going to donate her organs. We all including her siblings, kids and grandkids met at the hospital to see her one last time. We all went up with our families and then just us 3 got to be with her until she passed. Some of her organs were supposed to go to to one of our friends but she had to pass within 2 hours and she didn't. We were there for close to 3 hours and she didn't pass. They said she would be moved if she made it until the next day. She passed away within an hour of us leaving. I believe she was donating her heart stems.
